Unfortunately - as can be seen from this photograph - this building was unable to withstand the force of the earthquake (January 17, 1995).The entire first floor was crushed by the second, and as a result, the building was torn down on January 25, 1995. Like many of the other buildings in the Nada-ku area, a new building was built in its place.
