KOKUSAI KAIKAN BEFORE THE EARTHQUAKE

Built in 1956 in Sannomiya (downtown Kobe), the Kobe Kokusai Kaikan was a large theatre which could seat 2200 people. In the past, the upper floors were used as a hotel; however, just before the earthquake, the upper floors were not used. Underground, there were two movie theatres, a food floor, and a small shopping center.
